Here I will post weekly homework packet covers and word sorts in case you are in need of a duplicate copy for any reason!
Please kindly have your child complete his/her homework in pencil unless otherwise noted in the directions. While I send the entire week's worth of homework home on Monday, I highly encourage your child to stick to the weekly pacing guide provided as I often teach lessons/activities on the same day as the homework that is assigned. Therefore, if they skip ahead, they may be doing work that I have not yet covered in class, making its proper completion more difficult. Following the pacing guide also helps each student learn time management skills. Obviously, you have the liberty to flex on this as needed for your individual family's needs. Developmentally speaking, homework in 2nd grade should take no more than 20 minutes per night. If you are finding it is taking your child MORE than this amount of time, please let me know. Your child will not have homework on the weekends unless he/she chooses to work on our larger projects at that time. :)
Homework will be sent home every MONDAY and should be returned (signed) every FRIDAY! As a reminder, I will only return homework packets if they are incomplete or done incorrectly. Your child's "grade" will be marked on the chart inside of the center of the homework folder. A sticker means that everything was completed and in on time. An I denotes an incomplete assignment, while an L means it was completed, but turned in late. If your child is absent on Friday due to illness or another reason, this will not count as late.
Due to copyright laws, I can only post the cover page for homework packets. If you find that your child is missing a paper that he/she needs, please feel free to e-mail me and I can scan you a copy to print at home or send home a duplicate as needed.
